South Korean company Samsung announced that it broke a speed record on its 5G mmWave network.

Tests NBN Co. was carried out jointly with During field testing, an average download speed of 1.75 Gbps and an average upload speed of 61.5 Mbps were achieved.

The peak download speed was 2.7 Gbps, 10 km from the source.

Samsung and NBN said the new record is an important step in the development of 5G networks, not only in densely populated urban areas, but also in rural areas.

As reported by Ukrinform, telecommunications equipment manufacturer Ericsson, aerospace company Thales and inventor of wireless technologies Qualcomm Technologies are planning to implement 5G in its Earth-orbiting satellite network.
