The State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine gave advice on how to remove the virus from the phone yourself.

As reported by Ukrinform, the State Special Communications Service reported this on Telegram.

“Viruses on the smartphone not only affect the full functioning of the device. Above all, they pose a threat to personal, confidential, financial information that may be available to attackers,” the message said.

It is possible to understand that there is malware installed on a smartphone with various signs. For example, this is a rapid battery drain, a significant slowdown in operation, frequent crashes.

“Periodically check the apps installed on the phone – if you see an app you haven’t installed, delete it immediately,” the State Intelligence Service said.

To remove viruses from your phone yourself, you must first put the device in safe mode or turn on flight mode, disconnect from the internet. If the phone has it, you should check the device with a built-in antivirus and remove any threats found: Settings – Device maintenance – Device protection – Scan the phone. The State Special Communications Service noted that the path may differ depending on the smartphone model.

“If there is no antivirus built into the phone, use special antivirus applications. Do not use Russian programs, do not trust well-known developers, and download antiviruses only from official stores or websites of developers,” said the State Special Communications Service.

If the smartphone does not have antivirus software, you can also scan the phone with a computer program: connect the phone to the computer via USB, run an antivirus scan on the connected devices.

“As a last resort – reset the system to factory settings. Settings – General management – Reset – Reset the system to factory settings. Note that in this case all data on the smartphone will be deleted. In order not to lose important information, the State Special Communications Service, do not forget to backup data in advance,” he said.

As reported by Ukrinform, the State Private Communications and Information Protection Service advises citizens to use national roaming if the mobile operator’s network is not working.
