The Pixel 7 series, powered by Google’s second-generation Tensor G2 SoC, was announced last month, but rumors have begun to surface about next year’s Pixel models, which are likely to be the Pixel 8 series. According to a new report from WinFuture, Google under the codenames Shiba and Husky, respectively. It works on the new flagship Pixel smartphones – Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.
They are expected to run on Android 14 and feature a new SoC codenamed ‘Zuma’, which is under development by Google and Samsung. It looks like this SoC is a modified variant of the Exynos 2300 SoC and will be accompanied by the same Samsung G5300 modem used in the Google Tensor G2 SoC. Zuma may come with optimizations for machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Future smartphones may have a total of 12 GB of RAM. In addition, the Shiba display offers a Full HD resolution of 1080×2268 pixels, while the Husky display can have a resolution of 1344×2822 pixels.
The report did not mention when the search giant Google plans to launch the next generation of its Pixel series smartphones. But the launch dates of previous Pixel flagship smartphones suggest that the upcoming Pixel 8 could launch around October next year.
