AMD announced the general availability of 4th generation EPYC processors at the conference “together we improve data centers”, that the company is celebrating in San Francisco and which we had the opportunity to watch in situ. Codenamed “Genoa” and built on the same general “Zen 4” architecture as the Ryzen 7000 consumer variant, the fourth-generation EPYC processors are intended for data centers and according to AMD they are the fastest and most energy efficient in the world. These are its main goals: to improve performance, consolidate infrastructures and reduce energy costs in data centers.

The 4th generation EPYC processors are designed to offer optimizations for all kinds of professional applications while helping enterprises free up data center resources. Among the functions that AMD highlights, we can mention:

• Higher performance and efficiency. With up to 96 cores in a single processor, the new EPYCs allow customers to deploy fewer servers while using more power to continue to meet their computing needs. A high number of cores increases the flexibility of data centers.
• secure data. Through access “Safety by Design”AMD continues to offer enhanced security features for the x86 CPU ecosystem. The 4th generation AMD EPYC processor includes Infinity Guard, a cutting-edge feature set that offers physical and virtual layers of protection. Also by doubling the number of encryption keys

• The latest architecture and features in the industry.
