The US Army learned how to use Stinger missiles from the Javelin launcher. This was reported by Drive.

The publication notes that the first tests of Stinger and Javelin’s joint work have been conducted since at least September 2020, although details of this have only recently become public.

In particular, the video of the tests in which a Stinger missile launched from a Javelin installation in March 2021 destroyed a drone was only released in October.

Drive writes that these tests were conducted as part of the Convergence project, and a modified Javelin installation called the Javelin Lightweight Command Launch Unit (LWCLU) was used to launch Stinger. According to Raytheon, the LWCLU can detect targets with twice the night vision range and three times the day vision range regardless of weather conditions compared to the original Javelin setup.

It also turned out that the new setup is a third lighter than the original and uses infrared optics.
