TinyCircuits, a company specializing in small open source hardware, is currently funding two new TinyTVs on Kickstarter. These are enhanced versions of the original TinyTV that offer higher screen resolution and some interesting new features. First of all, the new models have rotary controls that allow you to adjust the volume or switch between channels; Switch between video clips stored on TinyTV. This also works with an optional mini remote.
TVs already come with some video clips, so you can use them right out of the box, but the TinyTV can also be easily connected to a computer via the rear USB-C connector to stream your own video clips up to 8GB. , depending on the resolution, this is enough for 10-40 hours of video material.
TinyTV is recognized by the computer as a USB drive, the free program allows you to convert videos to the required resolution and add effects. You can even show your PC monitor on TinyTV.
TinyTV 2 uses a 1-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 216×135 pixels while TinyTV Mini uses a 0.6-inch OLED display with a resolution of 64×64 pixels. The built-in rechargeable battery provides up to two hours of wireless video playback, and the infrared receiver also lets you control TVs with a universal remote.
TinyCircuits’ new mini TVs are currently being funded on Kickstarter, where the project has already raised more than €180,000. TinyTV 2 and TinyTV Mini are available for €49 each as part of the Kickstarter campaign, and €75 in Special Edition only, with a mini remote and USB-C cable. Delivery and import costs are paid separately. Deliveries are expected to begin in March 2023. It is unknown whether such TVs will appear in Russia, but in our country the demand for them will most likely be small.
