The company says the large robotic arm, called Sparrow, can “identify, select, and process individual items in warehouses.”
Sparrow is said to represent a “significant advance” in robotics, using computer vision and artificial intelligence to recognize millions of items and process them appropriately.
Amazon says the device will help speed up the process of moving packages through warehouses.
“Sparrow will take on repetitive tasks and allow our employees to focus their time and energy on other issues while increasing their safety. “At the same time, Sparrow will help us increase efficiency by automating a critical part of our fulfillment process so we can continue to deliver to customers.”
As Ukrinform reports, the American company Amazon has announced that it plans to start delivering ordered packages with drones soon.
