The Tianzhou-5 cargo spacecraft, carrying cargo for the Chinese space station, successfully docked.
As reported by Ukrinform, Xinhua reports this with reference to the China Manned Cosmonaut Program Office (CMSA).
“Tianzhou-5” performed a rapid automatic approach and insertion with the rear insertion node of the “Tianhe” main module.
“For the first time, Chinese cosmonauts aboard the space station have watched a cargo ship dock live,” the message reads.
During this mission, it was recorded that the rapid automatic approach and docking process was completed in about two hours.
China reportedly launched the Tianzhou-5 cargo spacecraft on Saturday morning to deliver cargo to the Tiangong space station, which is expected to be completed this year.
