Scientists have made predictions about what the last days of our solar system will look like and when they will occur. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), we won’t see it.

The Sun is about 4.6 billion years old. Based on observations of other stars, astronomers estimate that the Sun will reach the end of its life in about 10 billion years.
In about 5 billion years, our star will turn into a red giant. Its core will contract and the outer layers will expand into the orbit of Mars, engulfing our planet. Most likely, then there will be no humanity on Earth. The fact is that the Sun’s brightness is increasing by about 10% every billion years. This causes the oceans to evaporate and the surface to become very hot.
As a result, our Sun will likely shrink from a red giant to a white dwarf, followed by a planetary nebula.
