Xiaomi continues to occupy Huawei’s place in the international market. The “people’s brand” feels confident, as before, not only at home, but all over the world, and now Huawei will continue its business. These days, CEO Lei Jun has confirmed that Xiaomi’s flagship smartphone with premium camera will be launched internationally. We are talking about the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, it will be the first truly Chinese-made flagship since the Huawei P30 Pro launched in 2019. The upcoming innovation will take all the necessary software and hardware to truly compete with premium devices from Samsung, Apple and Google. In addition, the Xiaomi 13 Pro model will be equipped with a 1-inch Sony IMX 989 sensor, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and 120W super fast charging.
Thanks to the leaks, the appearance of the Xiaomi 13 Pro is already known. Frankly, there’s nothing extraordinary here – a powerful camera unit with a curved display reminiscent of the Pixel 7 Pro and a lens array like the iPhone 14 Pro. However, the main thing is inside. Qualcomm’s latest development focused on graphics, artificial intelligence and energy efficiency will be one of the first smartphones in the international market with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.
Another important point is that the Xiaomi 13 Pro will receive the sensor of the main camera IMX 989. It was initially assumed that this sensor would be exclusive to the most expensive flagship devices on Android. Meanwhile, Xiaomi has gained early access to IMX 989 as it has joined its development with Sony. Two more 50-megapixel modules will be added to the 50-megapixel IMX 989 sensor. Xiaomi will also continue the tradition of launching smartphones with ultra-fast charging, so the upcoming series will support 120W charging technology. This will allow you to charge the device in about 15-30 minutes.
In contrast, Xiaomi 13 Ultra is expected to challenge iPhone and Galaxy S. It will have the same 1-inch Sony IMX 989 sensor, but will be different with a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a new zoom system. All this will elevate Xiaomi’s capabilities to a new level. The cost of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra remains in question. Its predecessor never hit the international market, but the Xiaomi 11 Ultra was sold for a while outside of China for 1,200 euros. That’s pretty much the same as the iPhone 12 Pro Max cost at the time. Xiaomi 13 Ultra is expected to be released in the second quarter of 2023.
