The future Pixel 7a smartphone under Google’s own brand will introduce a number of features that were not part of this mid-range in the past, in addition to the use of a new Qualcomm modem and improvements to the screen and camera, a completely new support for wireless charging.
Google has done its homework with the Pixel 7, its new flagship to compete in the high-end market. As with the Pixel 6, it’s developing a lower-powered variant that will arrive early next year. First information that are reaching us talk about a much improved terminal in several parts.
One of the novelties will come from the screen, the main component of every smartphone, which will fit a new panel with a resolution of 1080p and 90Hz refresh rate which will address one of the biggest complaints about the current Pixel 6a.
Cameras will be another improved section thanks to a new configuration where highlights Sony optics, the IMX787 main camera and the IMX712 ultra wide-angle camera. They probably won’t reach the level of those installed in the Pixel 7, but the larger sensor size should be a big improvement over the 6a.
Classification a Qualcomm modem You will need to resolve the signal and connection issues that have plagued some users of Google’s own phones, particularly the Pixel 6 series.
Another of the excellent premieres will be wireless charging compatibility 5 watts. It’s slow by today’s standards, but you’re welcome, as this will be the first time it’s been supported in this mid-range lineup.
All of the above will be boosted by the use of an improved version of the Tensor SoC, a custom SoC created internally by the Internet giant for its mobile devices, which has the same goal as Apple A or Samsung Exynos, to reduce dependence on external technologies and integrate hardware and software improvements.
With Android 13 pre-installed, the Pixel 7a will launch in early 2023, and if the rumors are true, it will be a worthy contender in the highly competitive mid-range smartphone lineup.
