The “Children Who Write History Project” (TYÇ), carried out by Erzurum Municipality, was also carried out in Pazaryolu and Karayazı districts. Gülden Banca, the author of the series “Heroic Women of the National Struggle” prepared for children as part of the project in Karayazı, met children living in Karşıyaka district.
ERZURUM (IGFA) – Banca signed the books given to the children and then talked about the heroes. The Children Who Make History Project, which launched in Erzurum in July, accelerated its work with its launch last week. As part of the project, which aims to explain Turkish elders to primary school children and create national awareness, libraries called ‘Book Trees’ are being created for educational institutions. The books about 100 Turkish elders created by the Children Making History in Libraries Project are being prepared for children to read.

After the ceremony for the project in Karayazı, author Gülden met the children in Banca Pazaryolu. Author Banca, who signed the children’s book ‘Women of the National Struggle’, included in the Children Making History Project, said: “I am very happy and proud to be in Erzurum. Just like in Erzurum, our children in Turkey get the chance to get to know their national heroes better. Our children will follow in the footsteps of their heroes at a young age and be with that consciousness in every part of their lives. Erzurum is an ancient city… I would like to thank our education volunteer, the mayor of the metropolitan municipality of Erzurum, Mehmet Sekmen, who implemented our project in the city of civilizations. The positive feedback I’ve experienced here has increased the happiness I experienced while writing these books,” he said.
