The American space agency NASA will attempt tonight to launch the Artemis 1 mission (“Artemida-1”), which should later return a man to the moon.

As Ukrinform correspondent reports, Space.com writes about it

“At this time, Artemis-1 is scheduled to launch no earlier than 1:04 am on November 16 from launch pad 39B at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida,” the material says.

If for some reason it is not possible to launch the rocket today, the reserve dates are November 19 and 25.

“The Artemis-1 mission will be the first test flight of the new Space Launch System (SLS) launch vehicle and the Orion space module. The launch vehicle will launch the unmanned module on a journey of approximately 42 days, during which time it will fly around the Moon before returning to Earth. “

Note that the overall goal of NASA’s Artemis project is to return humans to the moon for the first time in half a century. The Artemis I mission is to test the rocket, spacecraft and all of its systems to ensure they are safe for astronauts.

The Space Launch System rocket is a modern analogue of the Saturn V delivering astronauts. NASA monthly in the 1960s and 1970s. This is the largest and most powerful rocket in the entire history of cosmonautics.
