“As part of our annual operational review process, we are always looking at our areas and what needs to change. Against this background, given the current macroeconomic environment (and several years of rapid staff expansion), some teams are adapting, which means that sometimes specific roles are not needed.”

There is no official information about the number of dismissed employees yet, but according to the media, this number is around 10 thousand people. The cuts will mainly affect retail, personnel and appliance departments, which are engaged in the development of devices such as the smart speaker Eco.

Mass layoffs have been announced previously at other tech giants such as Microsoft, Meta, Twitter and Salesforce.
