Ukrainians paid UAH 4.1 billion “Google tax” to the state in the nine months of this year.

As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by Forbes Ukraine.

In the message, “Ukrainians paid UAH 4.1 billion Google tax to the state in the first three quarters. The result exceeded expectations. According to the plan, the new tax was supposed to supplement the state budget by UAH three billion per year.”

The top three are the American Google, Apple and Meta. Among the most important services are video content, services for using social networks, gaming content and platforms for selling goods.

The list of those who pay the “Google tax” is not yet finalized. From 2023, the tax office will start to follow companies that have not yet registered as VAT payers. Tax evaders will have to pay a fine of 30 minimum wages – now 201 thousand hryvnia.

As reported, from January 1, 2022, non-resident foreign IT companies must pay value added tax in Ukraine if the total value of the services provided exceeds UAH 1 million. An office has been developed for them on the website of the State Tax Service, where you can register and contact the tax authorities. They pay taxes in dollars or euros. Since the beginning of 2022, 80 companies have created accounts.
