The Splinter Cell Remake is undoubtedly one of those redesigns that fills the community with excitement who played the originals at the time. And so it is that, although it was announced at the end of last year, the truth is that there have already been rumors and, above all, a historical demand for this new edition from its followers for many years. And it’s understandable, of course, because it was not only a success in its time, but many years later it’s still a well-remembered title.

Since the announcement of Splinter Cell Remake no further information has been released on this. You may recall that an announcement video was released at the time, but it didn’t include a single image of the remake. And it’s because, as it turned out at the time, it was still in a very early stage, which already encouraged us to think long-term, but it’s true that in that almost year, Ubisoft could have made some progress, or , at least to confirm if there has been any progress in its development.

But hey, better late than never and at a meeting organized by a French developer to mark twenty years since the launch of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, which hit the market on this day but in 2002, finally showed the first concept images of Splinter Cell Remake which, while not showing us exactly what the game will look like on screen, illustrate the design lines that the designers and developers are basing themselves on when carrying out this remake.

Based on the creative world of Tom Clancy (who died in 2013), there are several franchises that have managed to gain public recognition. Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six stand out for their fertility, but also the latest The Division. However, within this entire ecosystem, Splinter Cell was relegated to oblivion since 2013, none of her titles have been released, the year in which his last game to date, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist, was released. Now, with the release of the Splinter Cell Remake, it seems that Ubisoft is intent on picking up the franchise with new titles in the future.

As I said earlier, not much is known about Splinter Cell Remake other than that is developed with Snowdrop, the same engine used by the French developer for another of its most anticipated titles, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. So we’ll probably have to wait a while longer before we get back to driving Sam Fisher like we started doing twenty years ago today.
