On Thursday, Twitter employees began to resign en masse, as Elon Musk described this day as a deadline – everyone must decide whether to stay with the company
As Ukrinform reported, citing The New York Times, a few hours before the deadline, the company was in complete disarray.
The newspaper noted that hundreds of Twitter employees seemed to have decided to resign until 17.00. To confirm this decision, they posted appropriate emojis on social networks.
Twitter owner Musk and his advisers held meetings with some employees deemed “critical” to halt the mass layoffs.
Against this background, the company announced that it will close its office buildings and shut down access to employees until Monday.
On Wednesday, Musk gave employees just under 36 hours to decide whether or not to stay with the company. According to him, those who resign will receive three months’ severance pay.
The publication states that such a sudden layoff of so many employees raises questions about how Twitter will continue to operate.
As reported, Twitter’s new owner, Elon Musk, said he expects to reduce his time at the company and find a new CEO.
