Here is one of the most requested changes in WhatsApp: Ability to work on multiple devices at the same time. This is the new ‘helper mode’ and WhatsApp has decided to enable it for users starting with the beta version at version 2.22.24.18.
Until now, WhatsApp’s multi-device mode allowed you to use the messaging app on an Android mobile, as well as WhatsApp Web. Now this possibility has been extended to two Android devices. So we can use WhatsApp on mobile and tablet at the same time; or two cell phones.
We will need to download the latest version of WhatsApp to take advantage of this functionality. If we don’t want to do it manually, nothing happens because this function will reach other users in the coming weeks.
What was previously done using cheats or external apps is now official. WhatsApp and the new “assistant mode” allow you to connect a second Android device. Syncing works a little differently.
If we want to add a second mobile phone, what we have to do is configure WhatsApp on this new phone. The difference is, as our colleagues at Xataka Android explained to us, Instead of adding the same phone number, we must click on the ‘Connect a device’ option.. There he will show us a QR code instead of asking us for a number.
We already know the next steps. As we usually do on a computer, we will need to go to ‘Connected devices’ and add the new mobile phone.
this maximum number of connected devices remains four, but the innovation is that few of these devices can now be mobile. This WhatsApp innovation will be especially useful to us if we have a tablet or two mobile phones. As always, if you want to turn off one of the devices, you can do so in the same way as with WhatsApp Web.
The ability to chat from two Android phones at the same time brings WhatsApp closer to other messaging apps that have had this functionality for years, such as Telegram. WhatsApp has been accelerating the amount of news in recent months. This new ‘helper mode’ just in beta is one of the best additions, but it won’t be the last.
