The company Archer from the United States presented a serial version of the electric vertical take-off aircraft (eVTOL). It is called Midnight and is designed to carry 4 passengers. The first flights will begin in 2025.

The novelty is equipped with 12 screws that take it to 610 meters. After that, horizontal flight begins at speeds up to 241 km / h. The electrolyte can travel up to 160 km on a single charge, making it a good alternative to helicopters or air taxis. And a 10-minute charge is enough to fly up to 64km (32km in both directions). The batteries are claimed to last for 3,000 charge cycles without replacement.

Midnight uses different types of screws. Rear double lifting screws. However, those in front can lean forward to provide horizontal flight. Midnight is said to be superior to helicopters because it is much quieter and cheaper to maintain. At the same time, the flight will cost approximately the same as taking a taxi. The company is currently building a factory in Georgia that will be capable of producing 650 aircraft per year in the first phase. Later production will increase to 2,300 units.
