Launch of the monthly module Hakuto-R Tokyo company Ispace will take place on November 28. In case of successful implementation within the framework of this mission, for the first time in history a module belonging to a private company will be delivered to the surface of a satellite of our planet. A launch vehicle of the American company SpaceX will be used to transport the payload into space.

The Hakuto-R module will go into space on the Falcon 9 rocket, which will be launched from Cape Canaveral Space Station in Florida. The journey to the moon will take several months – it should land on the surface of the Hakuto-R Earth satellite in April next year. The Japanese lander will carry a miniature rover named Rashid, built in the UAE, to the moon. It will be used to examine the environment using high resolution camera, thermal camera and other equipment.

In parallel with this, several other lunar projects are being developed. NASA has signed a contract with Intuitive Machines to deliver the Nova-C lunar rover. The launch of this mission is scheduled for March 2023. Additionally, Astrobotic’s Peregrine lunar probe will be launched into space in the first quarter of next year. It is currently unknown which of these devices will reach the lunar surface first.
