The Turkish company Baykar carried out the tests of Bayraktar Kızılelma, a new warplane with Ukrainian-made engines.

This was reported by Ukrinform with reference to Anatolia.

The technical director and co-owner of the company, Selçuk Bayraktar, announced the first tests by publishing the video of the new UAV tests. In the video, Red Apple is doing her first track run.

The company says it has taken another important step in the development of Bayraktar Kızılelma, which will be Turkey’s first unmanned military aircraft.

Bayraktar Kızılelma is being developed as a turbojet powered supersonic drone that can carry 1.5 thousand kg of payload (weapons, devices, etc.). Its declared maximum speed is 900 km/h, flight range is 930 km and operating altitude is over 10 km. It can work in the air for five hours.

Earlier in the week, the drone was successfully tested with safety cables and today, November 20, without cables.

Earlier, the company reported that the drone will not be able to make its first flight before 2023. It has Ukrainian-made AI-322F and AI-25TLT engines.

The developers say Kızılelma will be jet-powered and can take off and land on ships with short runways, including Turkey’s flagship amphibious assault ship TCG Anadolu, which is under construction.
