According to recent reports from Apple’s main suppliers, the iPhone 15 series will indeed use the USB-C interface, so many suppliers that produce MFi-certified cables with Lightning connectors have already closed. According to Mydrivers, citing supply chain sources, a total of 80% of Lightning data and charging cable suppliers are converting to produce new data cables, some of which are MFi certified as a result, and some with USB-C connectors.
Some in the industry say that even if all models of the iPhone 15 line use the USB-C interface, you should not be too happy: Apple’s closed iOS system will always have ways to monetize users.
Well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said last week that all smartphones in the iPhone 15 series will receive USB-C connectors, as required by the new rules of the European Union. He stated in his post that the wireless transmission speed of new smartphones will increase significantly. However, only the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be equipped with a high-speed connector, while the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will have USB-C with wired transfer speed similar to Lightning (USB 2.0).
