That fateful day when it was announced that the version The next generation The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been delayed indefinitely. For reasons that have not been made clear, but can be imagined, CD Projekt RED decided to take development off the hands of Saber Interactive and restore it in its own studios. It was a big jug of cold water for many users who were waiting for it, but another sign that the Polish studio has learned its lesson with Cyberpunk 2077 and is prioritizing quality over data. So it was bad news that was backed up by much more positive news: that when he arrived, he would do so under the best of conditions.

This announcement was made back in April and the fact that it was hinted that it did so without a date made us fear that we might forget to enjoy it already this year, that we won’t see it until 2023 at the earliest. That’s when Time added workload a study that we assumed was focused on completing the update, also Next-Gen, Cyberpunk 2077, which we can perfectly understand as a priority for the company. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt The next generation will have to wait his turn, apart from getting in between other franchise-related projects.

However, more than a week ago, we received fantastic news with an official announcement from CD Projekt RED that this long-awaited expansion is almost ready and that it will therefore reach users on December 14th, which is the perfect moment for us to enjoy it during Christmas, whether already for those who decide to purchase it only after adapting it to the current hardware, or for those who have already had it for a long time, in which case they will receive this update completely free of charge.

Now, since the announcement, many of us have been waiting to see images of this next-gen The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt so we can open our mouths (or grow our teeth until it arrives, which I’m sure the studio was aware of) and that she used it to play with time. And it is so that until today finally CD Projekt RED has finally released the trailer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on your YouTube channel. And as expected, the wait seems to have paid off. Judge for yourself:

The graphical aspect of this update is more than promising, and the study brings many improvements: ray tracing, improved reflections, improved physics and updated textures, among others, along with compatibility with DLSS 3 and FSR 2.1. In that regard, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is undoubtedly very, very timely.

But the improvements are not just visual. As we can see in the update information published by CD Projekt RED on GOG, we can find many more news. The study defines them as follows:

Numerous gameplay and UI improvements. An alternative camera option that brings us closer to the action both on foot and on horseback. Combined with the alternative Quick Sign Casting option, map filtering and the ability to dynamically hide the minimap, exploration will be even more exciting than before!

built-in photo modeallowing us to capture all those amazing moments during our future games.

A selection of mods integrated into the experience with some popular communities, plus CDPR’s own visual and gameplay enhancements.

Quest fixes enable smooth and error-free completion of “From Ofier’s Distant Shores”, “Scavenger Hunt: Wolf School Gear” among others!

new additional content inspired by the Netflix series The Witcher, thanks to which, in addition to embarking on a new quest, we can get blueprints for new equipment inspired by the show, we will enjoy alternative skins for Dandelion and Nilfgaardian soldiers. for Geralt.

and cross progressionwhich is a feature recently added to Cyberpunk 2077 that means we’ll be able to play the game how we want, where we want, and transfer our latest saves between platforms.

So it looks like we’re actually in for a lot more than just a graphics update (which is something remarkable in itself). We’ll still have to wait a few weeks before we can try it out, but from what we’ve seen and read, everything indicates that the reward after the long wait will be more than satisfying.
