The US electric car maker has recalled 67,698 Model S and Model X vehicles imported into China between September 25, 2013 and November 21, 2020, due to software issues affecting the vehicle’s battery management system, according to China’s market regulator.
Tesla said it will update the software of the recalled cars.
The company also recalled 2,736 imported Model 3 vehicles manufactured between January and November 2019, and 10,127 Chinese Model 3 vehicles manufactured between October 14, 2019 and September 26, 2022, due to possible seat belt failure. Cars will be checked and problems will be fixed.
