The the iCloud app for Windows Some of the incidents are troubling to many that who knows if they will eventually have legal consequences for Apple as users report that random photos of unknown families are appearing and that at least some of their images have been involuntarily, automatically and unwantedly exchanged with other users. In other words, the iCloud bug seems to be mixing and swapping different users’ photos through the Windows app.

The problem may have originated on Thursday of last week, the day a user reported via the MacRumors forums that his videos were corrupted and showing black screens and scan lines. But the worst thing is that sometimes the videos were allegedly replaced with still images not previously saved to the user’s account, showing or purporting to show photos of unknown families, football matches and other situations and contexts. As is clear, the user did not hesitate to publicly reveal his distrust of iCloud.

The said user revealed that he was able to replicate the bug on three other computers, two of which are running Windows 11 Pro and the other is running Windows 10 Pro. A few days later, other users started reporting similar problems, but here is the fact that the legitimate photos that were taken by iPhone models like 13 Pro and 14 Pro and then transferred to Windows were no longer on the smartphones and were replaced by others.

If what’s supposed to happen with iCloud for Windows is confirmed, we’d be in for a big problem. First, because if the origin is confirmed, Apple will have to answer to the courts and authorities responsible for enforcing privacy legislation, but The worst part is not the fine and/or compensation that the corporation will certainly be able to face, but the damage that users can cause by compromising images that end up in the wrong hands or displayed in public as a joke.. The damage it will cause to some people can be very great, so it is likely that we are only at the tip of the iceberg.

Microsoft recently announced that Windows 11 can be integrated with iCloud, although said integration requires the installation of Apple’s service application, so the Redmond giant’s operating system is limited to acting as an interface. Obviously, this feature has nothing to do with involuntary and unwanted filtering and sharing of images between users, but we emphasize that there is still a need to refine the details.
