The fifth generation Turkish Fighter (TF-X) program risks facing serious problems. The future of the Turkish stealth plane was evaluated by the American publication The Drive.

The publication drew attention to the videos showing the assembly of the elements of the fighter jet fuselage deployed in Ankara. It is stated that most of the fuselage and wings of the aircraft have been mounted. However, the aircraft still lacks a twin engine, tail and horizontal stabilizer. The fighter also received a flashlight, but the cockpit itself is not yet equipped with avionics.

“The launch of the prototype is scheduled for March 18, 2023. It looks ambitious, at least if the plane is released as finished.”– writes the publication.

The Drive specifically reminds that the TF-X should receive an American F110-GE-129 or F110-GE-132 engine as a power unit. The publication assumes that there may be problems with the supply of these power units to Turkey. Another option – the installation of British engines from Rolls-Royce on the TF-X – is also in question. The publication is skeptical due to Western sanctions against Turkey. paxles, agree to wear your fighter paxial motor.

“In the current situation, Turkey’s need for new fighters will only increase. We will see if the TF-X program can meet those needs, especially within the ambitious deadlines.”
