Situation Twitter It’s been a sad sight since Elon Musk became the owner and direct owner of the company behind the popular social media network. microbloggingwith a somewhat grotesque episode surrounding the verification and departure of advertisers for understandable reasons.
The image that Twitter has provided in recent weeks leaves a lot to be desired, so Elon Musk, if he does not want to sink the ship on purpose, needs to take a step to improve in this aspect. In order to offer users better information, the billionaire announced that next week he will launch a new multi-color verification that will make it easier to identify companies, government organizations and individuals.
More to the point, Twitter deploys a gold verification for companies, gray for government organizations and blue for individuals, famous or not. Individuals may have a small secondary logo showing that they belong to an organization if that organization is verified.
The goal of the new gold and gray verifications is to correct the impersonation absurdity of more than three weeks ago, which is that with the eight-dollar blue verification, many people started impersonating companies and celebrities. Blue verification, the one that individuals inherited from the old system and those who got it by paying eight dollars a month for Twitter Blue, will of course work the same or similar.
The revamped Twitter Blue program is set to launch on November 29, 2022 (the day after tomorrow). The original verification plan had to be shelved due to the high number of impersonations and possibly one of the reasons advertisers are moving away from Twitter. It’s surprising that no one has yet sued the company for launching such a monstrosity a few weeks ago.
We’ll see how Twitter’s revamped Blue fares, and if it leads to yet another impersonation monstrosity, it may eventually leave the social network microblogging very moved
