It takes about 10 years to develop each new generation of mobile communications. 4G appeared in 2009, 5G was launched in 2019. And now it looks like 6G has a chance to launch in 2029-2030. ZTE has successfully completed the main tests. During testing, the company checked a number of network indicators, although the source’s exact results have not yet been announced. Meanwhile, the prospects of sixth-generation networks will allow a sharp increase in data transfer rates.

ZTE has already spent up to 16 billion yuan on research, accounting for about 17% of its operating profit this year. Previously, the company spent about 10% of its operating profit on this type of research. As expected, ready-made solutions may emerge by 2030.

At the same time, if China is already testing important technical examples of 6G, then Europe and the USA are still investing in this direction. Ericsson is investing millions of pounds in 6G research in the UK. The company will also form a special research group that will deal with 6G. According to Ericsson representatives, it will complement 17 existing research groups in 12 countries. Note that Xiaomi and Samsung have already addressed the 6G issue.
