We are still immersed in the consumer frenzy of Black Friday and what’s left, because tomorrow is Cyber Monday and we already know that these “celebrations” start earlier and end later than they should. Yes, except for that we are talking about gamesThe fact that we publish a free games and offers section every week says it all. In other words, the deals are always there, only now more relevant than ever.
This week’s section actually only featured a handful of discounts aside from links to stores like Steam or the Humble Store, basically because with so many games on sale, I didn’t see the need to highlight anything in particular. But I think it’s worth doing, even if a little differently than usual. Because let’s be honest…
It seems children, the smallest of the house, they don’t play, or that anything worth it, whether it’s crap or not something optimal, that excites and amuses them, but doesn’t encourage the game as synonymous with violence and killing. Not to mention that many kids’ first gaming experience is usually on a mobile or tablet, where free games are full of ads or unhealthy mechanics.
In the classic game, controller in hand, everything is not what it used to be and today there are as many options as there are tastes and not only that, so finding games adapted to young children is easier than ever. However, I will recommend it four that I consider suitable for the little ones – For example, from four years and up – which are now on sale and will be super cheap and with very lax requirements.
Eat’s Munchies
With a colorful and casual style, Eat’s Munchies is a simple puzzle game that consists of taking a character from the beginning to the end of a level and overcoming various obstacles. Somewhat similar to the classics lemmings in its strategy and very funny. You don’t even need to be able to read to play. You can get it on Steam with a 75% discount (€1.74).
Toki Tori
If you like the previous one, you’ll like this one more, whether it’s the first part or especially the second part, and it’s Toki Tori is a great little wonder of puzzle games. The first part is more rudimentary, while the second is an explosion of wit and good taste, both with platforming elements. You can get both on Steam for 90% off: Toki Tori for €0.49 and Toki Tori 2 for €1.49.
Grow Home
Grow Home It’s another slasher game where all you have to do is get to the end to complete it, but of course it’s not as easy as it seems. You are a robot that fell from the sky and must climb a gigantic plant. Done. That’s what the game is about. Easy, right? And very pretty. You have it on Steam with a 75% discount (€1.99).
Yoku’s Island Express
Finally a more modern title, more action, but with the same charm as the previous ones. in Yoku’s Island Express You are a dung beetle who takes the position of messenger on a quaint island full of all sorts of fauna and flora. It has puzzles, platform mechanics, and pinball… If anything, it might have parts that are a little more “violent” than the rest (you crush bugs), but nothing special. You have it on Steam with an 80% discount (€3.99).
By the way: just because these games are suitable for children does not mean that they are not suitable for adult entertainment. In fact, even though the content is light and the mechanics are easy to learn, they become more complex as you progress. You can’t just be there to help the little one play: you have to be there to make it a shared game, it’s not worth leaving the nano in front of the screen and walking away.
