Microsoft wants you to upgrade to Windows 11 and start showing ads already

Windows 11 is an operating system that has been marked by great controversies since its launch, not only because of the changes it introduced at the aesthetic level, which certainly did not please everyone, but also because of other changes at the functional level, which they were unsuccessfuland also for performance issues and bugs.

The arrival of different updates loaded with major or minor bugs It didn’t do much to improve the reputation of the operating system, which is still struggling in terms of market share and which gives Microsoft a big problem, that Windows 10 could become “new windows xp”That is, on the operating system that users seem to cling to in order to avoid upgrading to Windows 11.

As many of our readers remember, many users continued to use Windows XP even though it was no longer supportedand the same thing happened with Windows 7. Obviously Microsoft is aware of the problem and that’s why they started a new campaign advertising Windows 11 as a free upgrade, I can confirm this because this morning as soon as I turned on the PC I got a full screen ad , in which Microsoft encouraged me to upgrade to Windows 11.

Windows 11

This new campaign consists of several screens where Microsoft insists you upgrade to Windows 11, to the extent that you have to reject it three times, and to make matters worse, the option to not update appears in the very first window with a very small size, and you have to look at it with minimal care to be able to appreciate it. It looks like it does, but it is no accident that the update option seems large and conspicuous and that without the update the opposite will happen.

Microsoft can promote their products and I don’t see anything wrong with showing a message to users that they can upgrade to Windows 11 for free, but it should not be done this way because it is possible that some will quit by direct update by mistake, and without prior backup it could lead to complicated situations.

Regarding Windows 11, I have to say that I haven’t had any major problems with the installs I use on my laptop and test bench (I only had a serious Wi-Fi issue with the latter, but that was a while ago). With everything, both are new generation devices and have high performance components so it is normal that In other words, it wouldn’t make sense for Windows 11 to run poorly on a high-performance PC with current components.

However, this must be remembered even the latest Windows 11 updates were full of problems, and for that reason, I’m still not encouraged to move to said OS on my main computer, which will continue to use Windows 10 for a considerable period of time.
