The NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope captured a live photo of supernova remnant DEM L 190 with the Wide Field Planetary Camera 2.
This was reported by the observatory, Ukrinform reports.
DEM L 190, also known as LMC N49, is the brightest supernova remnant in the Large Magellanic Cloud. The space object is located about 160,000 light-years from Earth in the constellation of the Golden Pisces.
The image shows the supernova remnant in flame form. It consists of many long chains and thin layers of gas that glow orange and blue. Pale gas clouds line their edges. DEM L 190 is surrounded by several scattered blue and red stars.
Previous image of the DEM L 190 taken by Hubble, released in 2003.
As reported by Ukrinform, the NASA/ESA Hubble space telescope photographed the galactic collision of two galaxies, Arp-Madore 417-391, located in the constellation Eridanus, thanks to Advanced Camera for Surveys.
