GIGABYTE brings Instant 6GHz to its Z690 motherboards for easy overclocking

GIGABYTEone of the leading companies in high performance hardware and components and for playing gameshe brought his instrument Instant 6GHz on the Z690 platform after release on Z790 motherboards. In other words, the company took it to high-end boards that were built for the current generation of Intel Alder Lake processors, which are at least initially compatible with Raptor Lake thanks to the fact that both generations use the same socket.

Instant 6GHz is a technology designed by GIGABYTE to better squeeze Intel Core i9-13900K and Core i7-13700K processors that work with the Z790 or Z690 chipset implemented on the branded motherboard. After activation via BIOS settings, it enables this increase performance by up to 3% for each core running at 6GHz on Raptor Lakewhich is not an impressive gain, but it is a small addition especially for people who do not have the knowledge of how to do it overclocking in a safe way.

Instant 6GHz ensures that the system can automatically adjust CPU voltage and core voltage load calibration (Vcore) to detect optimized cores running at 6GHz. Thanks to its capabilities, it prevents the user from having to deal with complex configurations that he might use overclockingsomething that can pose a risk to the integrity of the computer if it is not clear what it is doing.

As with GIGABYTE motherboards with the Z790 chipset, using Instant 6GHz on Z690 brand motherboards requires a BIOS/UEFI update, which can be done by first downloading the latest firmware and then using the Q-Flash or Q-Flash Plus tool. If you’re using a Raptor Lake processor on a motherboard made for Alder Lake at the time (H610, B660, H670 and Z690), it’s probably a good idea to go through the firmware update process to ensure proper functionality.
