The Shenzhou-15 manned spacecraft successfully docked with the Chinese orbital station Wednesday morning.
This was announced by the China Manned Cosmonautics Program Office (CMSA), reports Ukrinform citing Xinhua.
The CMSA said Shenzhou-15 performed a rapid automatic approach and docking with the forward docking node of the Chinese space station’s Tianhe module at 05:42 Beijing time on Wednesday.
The entire convergence and berthing process took about six and a half hours.
The Shenzhou-15 crew entered the “Tianhe” module, where they were greeted by members of the previous mission, Shenzhou-14.
It was recorded that Chinese astronauts on the space station witnessed the arrival of a manned spacecraft for the first time.
As Ukrinform reported, on November 29, Chinese authorities launched a Long March 2F launch vehicle with three taikonauts on board as part of the Shenzhou-15 mission.
