The moderators of the Twitch platform have permanently banned the account of a Brazilian streamer named Lucas, who is also one of the few players with the highest rank of Radiant in the online shooter game Valorant, for not meeting the minimum age requirement. This was reported by Eurogamer.

It turns out that Lucas is only 11 years old, but according to Twitch rules, broadcasters must be at least 13 years old. Twitch has taken drastic measures despite constant parental controls. By viewing the recording of their broadcasts, you can ensure that the child always broadcasts accompanied by his parents.

As Eurogamer points out, Twitter users where Lucas’ story was originally posted are divided. Some found Twitch’s decision unfair, while others justified the platform’s actions.

Journalists also noted that Lucas violated the official rules not only of Twitch, but also of the European rating system for computer games and other entertainment software (PEGI). According to the PEGI label, Valorant is not intended for children under 16 years of age.

Lucas’ parents said they were unaware of all the subtleties of Twitch moderation. According to them, Lucas’ account was already suspended once but was removed shortly after. After that, the 11-year-old played for another four months without any problems.

Valorant is an online shooter game released in 2020 by Riot Games. From 2021, Valorant will host international esports tournaments.
