After several months of testing, Google has released the final version of Android TV 13. The update focuses on minor improvements that will only be noticed by developers and are unlikely to affect average users in any way.
Android TV 13 has not received any significant UI enhancements. Instead, Google’s next-generation proprietary TV OS brings new APIs for developers and new access controls to make the platform even more user-friendly. Changes include improved physical keyboard layout settings, updated privacy controls, and a new power saving feature that allows devices to pause video playback when the HDMI signal changes.
You should not count on all compatible TVs to be quickly updated to Android TV 13. For now, the new firmware is only available to those with the ADT-3 developer kit.
