Japan’s National Postal Service has unveiled a drone it will use to start delivering goods to customers next year.
As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by NHK.
The drone can carry up to five kilograms of cargo and fly about 35 kilometers.
Japan Post said drones could make deliveries faster and cheaper than ever before.
The company added that it will begin using drones to deliver goods in the next fiscal year, which begins in April.
The decision comes after the Japanese government on Monday reviewed the relevant law, allowing drones to fly beyond the operator’s line of sight over residential areas.
At the same time, Japan Post said it plans to start promoting the vehicle as it faces greater labor shortages in mountainous regions and remote islands.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Defense Procurement Program Administration under the South Korean Ministry of Defense (DAPA) has opened a special research center for the development of reusable unmanned spacecraft.
