The authors of Google Chrome asked users of their browser to update Windows. This was reported by Windows Central.

According to media reporters, users of Windows 7 and Chrome browsers began to receive notifications about the need to update their operating system. Such a message began to appear, especially to owners of computers based on the Windows 8.1 operating system.

For this reason, Google browser users were strongly advised to abandon Microsoft’s legacy operating systems. Otherwise, Google may disable updates for browser users. In the company’s materials, it is said that you must have a Windows 10-based device or a more up-to-date system to receive updates. Google ended basic Chrome support for Windows 7 users in 2020.

Journalists of the publication explained that the restriction applies to all versions of the browser based on Chromium. “Even if you close it so you don’t see the message, it will reappear the next time you start Chrome”– highlighted the authors.
