As noted, Google plans to combine the more than 500 employees of the Waze business with the Geo division responsible for Maps, Earth and Street View products.
Waze CEO Neha Parikh will step down after a transition period.
The post said that Google wants to keep Waze as a separate service and is not planning any cuts as part of the restructuring.
The company expects the restructuring to eliminate conflicting tasks in the work on Waze and Maps products.
