Unexpectedly, almost at the end of the year, the MediaTek company decided to introduce its new mobile processor Dimensity 8200. We now know which chip will form the basis of many mid-range smartphones in 2023.

The innovation is made according to the norms of the 4 nanometer technical process, which tells us two things: energy consumption has decreased and efficiency has increased. For example, on AnTuTu, the processor scores about 900,000 points.

The Dimensity 8200 uses the 1+3+4 scheme. At the same time, the processor cores are ARM Cortex-A78 and ARM Cortex-A55. ARM Mali-G610 is responsible for the graphics. The chip supports displays with FullHD+ resolution and frame rates up to 180 Hz. If this is a WQHD display, the maximum frame rate is already 120 Hz.

But the main feature of the processor can be called the Imagiq 785 coprocessor for image processing, it supports 14-bit color rendering and HDR, and can also work with cameras with resolutions up to 320 MP.

The first Xiaomi smartphone on the new platform will be the Redmi K60E. This has already been announced by Redmi head Lu Weibing.
