Yesterday we had the opportunity to see the specifications, price and release date of the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, a high-end graphics solution that has caused a lot of buzz and will arrive before the GeForce RTX 4070. The latter has also given a lot to talk about, especially since its specifications were not clear at alland they changed over time.

According to new information from a reliable source that accumulates quite a few hits, the GeForce RTX 4070 will also use the AD104 core, although in rather a cropped version. Contrary to what the first leaks suggested, the said graphics card will have 12 GB of graphics memory and not 10 GB, something that is obviously positive.

The specifications of the GeForce RTX 4070 have also been leaked, and the truth is that we have seen the numbers they would place it well below the Ti versionat least on paper, although it should be borne in mind that nothing is confirmed yet, so it is possible that we will end up with a slightly different configuration.

Possible specifications of GeForce RTX 4070

  • Graphics core AD104 in 5nm.
  • 35.8 billion transistors.
  • 5888 shaders at 2505MHz-2640MHz, normal and turbo mode.
  • 184 texturing units.
  • 184 tensor kernels of the fourth generation.
  • 64 raster units.
  • 46 cores of the third generation RT.
  • 192-bit bus.
  • 12 GB GDDR6X 21 GHz memory.
  • 36 MB L2 cache.
  • 31.08 TFLOPs of performance in FP32.
  • 250W TGP.

This configuration would leave us with gaming performance similar to what we can expect from the GeForce RTX 3080although thanks to its 12 GB of graphics memory, k third-generation RT cores and DLSS 3 technology support The GeForce RTX 4070 would offer a more interesting value and would be able to outperform the aforementioned graphics card in a drastic way when it comes to rendering images.

The issue of consumption deserves a special mention, as the GeForce RTX 4070 would range in 250 watts while the GeForce RTX 3080 achieved the value 320 watts. The jump in terms of energy efficiency would be considerable, and this model should work without problems in equipment that has a modest power supply.

We don’t have a definitive release date yet, but it’s most likely that the GeForce RTX 4070 will arrive soon after the Ti version, perhaps in late January or sometime in February. The price has not been disclosed, but I would bet $699-$749.
