The ability to send videos and photos in one view to whatsapp was one of the features most noted by messenger users. But unlike a similar function that exists in snapchatAppendix Target allows users to take screenshots of these temporary messages. Something finally fixed in the test version of the application.

WhatsApp prohibits taking screenshots in single view

O WABetaInformation announces that this new product is coming out in version WhatsApp beta version for Android 2.22.22.3 and enhance the security and privacy of users using this feature.

The website claims that the messaging app facebook displays a message when the user is about to send a single view message. in him whatsapp states that the feature “single view messages becomes more private” and that whoever receives the content will no longer be able to take a screenshot or “share, forward, copy and save” it:

This warning pops up for users at the bottom of the screen. Unfortunately, the app does not specify how it will ensure that the receiver does not record the screen or take a screenshot. It was also not reported if the user who sent the message would receive some kind of warning when someone tried to unseal the temporary message from them.

According to WABetaInformation, initially only a small number of beta users receive this news. But if the novelty does not cause problems and gives the expected result in the first tests, then WhatsApp should start testing with more people and launch for all users in the first half of 2023.

Along with this privacy enhancing feature, Target also brings Updated camera mode which promises to make it easier to record videos and photos from the app:
