Google began testing new translation features for Google Lens in September. Now the company replaces Google Translate with Lens in camera mode on Android and iOS devices.🇧🇷

The tool automatically translates texts and images, being able to identify texts in the real world using a camera and offer real-time translation. The tool can also be used offline if the user has previously downloaded the language pack.
Google Lens integration and improvements
From now on, regardless of whether the user selects Google Lens or Google Translate, the app will open the Google Lens interface. In the app above you can manually change languages and activate the “Show source text” function. The user can also import existing images/screenshots to their device in the bottom left corner.
At the moment the text is overwritten by translating the image using colored blocks to erase what is being replaced. Google claims thatintends to improve the function and completely remove the original text, using Pixel Magic Eraser technology. In addition, the translated text will retain the same style as the original text, while maintaining the font size and style.
At the moment Google will introduce AR Translate for Lens in 2022, with cutting-edge technology capable of translating in as little as 100 milliseconds, whether in screenshots or in camera mode. Considering what will happen with Google Lens, it is only logical that the company will try to integrate Translate into Lens and offer users its best solution.
