Elon Musk (Elon Musk) announced on Twitter that developers will soon increase the maximum number of characters in a tweet. If it’s 280 characters now, the limits will increase to 4000 characters in the future. Musk confirmed this in response to a user who asked if the social network plans to increase the limit to 4,000 characters. Musk briefly replied, “Yes,” but did not go into detail. Therefore, there are plans for the increase, but no exact dates have been given yet.

Earlier, developer Alessandro Paluzzi (Alessandro Paluzzi) reported that the social network will increase the limit of a tweet to 4,000 characters, but only the first 280 characters will be visible to users. As in other social networks and many sites, you will see the similarity of the “spoiler” panel.
Also, Musk himself has said before that he wants to end the “screenshots from the notebook” application, for which it is planned to add the ability to send long texts. It should be noted that Twitter once tested the “Articles” function for posting long messages, but it was never launched.
