The national mobile operator announced that it has launched a new business called Kyivstar.Tech, an IT company based in Diya.City. The new company will focus on the development of modern digital solutions for the operator’s customers and the foreign market.

Ukrinform was informed about this by the press service of Kyivstar.

“Kyivstar systematically supported the launch of Diya.City as it provides transparent and equal opportunities to all participants of the Ukrainian IT industry. . The next logical step was the inclusion of a new IT company, Kyivstar.Tech, in this legal regime. This will allow us to compete even better in the IT market, invest more effectively in the development of digital solutions for millions of customers, and contribute to Ukraine becoming the largest IT hub in Europe.”

As the press service reminded, since 2019 Kyivstar has concentrated the development of digital products in-house. During this time, the team has grown to more than 400 experts with all the competencies to create, develop and promote digital solutions. After the completion of the organizational processes at the beginning of 2023, this team will continue to work on projects within Kyivstar.Tech.

Kyivstar.Tech was headed by Andriy Zhukovsky, and Mykhailo Nestor became director of digital product development. Both have extensive work experience in both the IT field and the telecom business.

The creation of an IT company is part of Kyivstar’s strategy to evolve into a digital operator. The priority is the digitization of mobile and fixed services as well as services for B2B customers.

According to the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Diya.City currently has 400 residents, this area is developing despite the war and provides companies with the best conditions for doing business.

“We are very happy that companies from the telecom sector have also joined Diya.City. It is more important now than ever that the country stays connected. We thank every company that continues to work and adapt to new challenges.” Prime Minister — Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

As reported, Kyivstar is Ukraine’s largest electronic communications operator, serving 24.4 million mobile subscribers and more than 1.1 million “Home Internet” subscribers as of September 2022. The company offers a wide range of mobile and fixed technologies-based services, including 4G.
