The Spanish brand Create has become an old acquaintance for us. And this time we are presented with Windcalm DC, a ceiling fan that comes to claim the use of these devices not only in summer. Again in his line combining functionality and beauty. We had the opportunity to use Windcalm DC without WiFi and with light and we will tell you what the experience was.

Windcalm DC is an aluminum fan with 6 speeds and a customizable appearance that cools any room in summer and helps distribute heat from the heating in winter. For this, in summer mode, it moves cool air from the floor up, dissipates heat and cools the room; and in winter mode it evenly distributes the heat from the heating accumulated on the ceiling.

In this way, Create tells us, it helps to increase the energy efficiency of our home all year round. Something very valuable nowadays when it is difficult to decide whether to turn on the heating or not.

Wind Calm DC specifications

The Windcalm DC is very quiet in operation, can be installed even in the bedroom, which is the room we were able to test it in, and does not disturb sleep in any way. Of course, this is a very personal thing, but it really is a device that makes almost no noise.

It has a size of 132 cm in diameter, which the manufacturer says is ideal for acclimatizing spaces between 13 m2 and 25 m2. Ideal for a bedroom, office or even a small living room.

In the case of the Windcalm DC that we analyzed, it can only be controlled with a remote control. With it, we can change the revolutions, the direction of the blades (for winter and summer mode), the temperature of the light and program the timer. For the WiFi option, you’ll have all of these options available from the Create app on your phone.

The device takes anywhere from 1 hour to 8 hours to program, so it will automatically turn off whenever you want, which is a particularly useful option if you’re installing it in your bedroom. The light temperature can also be changed and the 15W LED can be switched between warm, neutral or cool lighting. However, from time to time the light selection resets and returns to the device’s default light. I don’t know if it’s because it hasn’t turned on for X hours or if it just resets every few days.

Detailed customization

One of its most notable points is customization. When choosing a product, you have various variables, both aesthetic and functional, that you can adjust to your liking. The first of these is the color of the engine, which you can choose between white, black or nickel. You can also adjust the color of the blades, choose between white, black, dark wood, natural wood or transparent (all made of wood of course). Finally, on a more technical note, you can choose whether your fan has a light or a WiFi connection, which is very useful to use from within the Create app.

In addition to the high level of customization, Create surprises us again with a very careful design. The Windcalm DC moves away from traditional fans with super bulky blades that were useless in the rest of the room. Thanks to the different color options, it fits into any room, no matter what decor you have.

What I found interesting about its controls is that every time you turn on the switch it is assigned to to turn on a light or activate a function with the remote, it beeps, which at least with the remote .the remote cannot be disconnected. It’s not a loud sound, but it would be ideal to be able to remove it.

Faced with one of the things that can worry us the most when buying a ceiling fan, which is installation, Create provides us with all possible facilities. The manual contains different installation instructions depending on the type of roof you have at home. In addition, there are step-by-step videos on the website in case you have doubts about the paper. If you have a little hand and the necessary tools, it will not be too difficult for you. Create comes again to fill our home with functional appliances with good design. Windcalm DC will accompany us in winter and summer and, thanks to its level of customization, it will adapt to every household. With the model we had the opportunity to test, it is true that we lack WiFi connectivity, but it does its job excellently.
