The creators of the jailbreak tool palera1n announced that iOS 16 has been hacked. This was reported by iDownloadBlog.

According to the hackers, they have added iOS 16.1.1 and the current version of iPadOS 16 to the list of compatible operating systems for hacking. Enthusiasts explained that the hack was based on the checkm8 bootrom exploit. Jailbreak is a non-Apple-approved process that gives you access to the iOS file system and hidden settings.

Despite Apple’s successful hacking of operating systems, jailbreaks can still only be installed on some devices. These include the iPhone 8, 8 Plus, iPhone X smartphones, and second-generation iPad Pro 10.5 and iPad Pro 12.9 tablets. Experts have released a jailbreak for all interested users.

The tool’s description says that a jailbreak can be installed if certain conditions are met. First of all, the user must have an Apple smartphone or tablet based on the A10 processor or a newer chip. Also, if no digital lock password has been set on the device, the jailbreak installation procedure will be successful. Otherwise, the owner of the gadget will have to completely reset the device with data loss.
