CaixaForum bears in its name the name of one of the most recognized cultural institutions in our country, CaixaForum, it is one of ten centers located throughout Spain, to which we must add the CosmoCaixa Science Museum. All these centers are managed by the La Caixa Foundation and, in their long history in the service of culture, they have provided shelter for various exhibitions, conferences and many other types of events whose epicenter is culture. In my case, I must also say that for years I have been in love with the vertical garden that presides over the access to the CaixaForum in Madrid, but that is another story.

So, as a person who greatly admires the work of La Caixa in this sense, from the moment I first learned about the existence of CaixaForum Plus, it was clear to me, even before I conscientiously researched it, that it would be a platform worthy of shame.. .and no, I wasn’t wrong.

But let’s start from the beginning. CaixaForum Plus is a new free streaming service offered by Fundación la Caixa, and which offers both its own production and third-party content. As you might have imagined, yes, it’s not the place to find the latest fashion trends or the series and movies that everyone is talking about. No, as can be easily deduced, all the content you will find on this platform revolves around the world of art and also the creative disciplines related to it. From cinema to architecture, from fashion to music, from science to theatre.

To make browsing its catalog easier, CaixaForum offers you nine categories after registration so that you can recommend the content that best matches your interests. But you can also access them whenever you want from the web menu and its app. They are the following:

• Architecture and design
• performing arts
• fine and visual arts
• humanities
• Physical Sciences
• Cinema
• Literature
• Music
• thought and history

In addition to these nine large groups, however, CaixaForum Plus also has the usual content exploration systems that we already know from other streaming services, from a large home page with content grouped according to different reasons (original content from the platform, short proposals, music, documentaries, podcasts, etc.) , complete catalog, news and, of course, also a search engine.

Registration, as I already mentioned, is completely free, but for those users who do not want to provide their data, it is possible to access the service and view its catalog (although not to reproduce its content) without registration or login, so my recommendation is that if you have minimal interest in the world of culture, spend at least a few minutes reviewing everything this service offers you. In my case, I had no doubt about it after only a few minutes.
