A couple of Russian cosmonauts were unable to go into space due to a fluid leak on the Russian Soyuz spacecraft.

As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by Space.com.

The leak, detected in the cooling system of the Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft, was first discovered at 02:45 Kyiv time on Thursday, December 15, approximately one hour and 40 minutes before Expedition 68 crews Serhiy Prokopiev and Dmytro Petelin. He was supposed to start spacewalks of 6 hours and 40 minutes from the Russian federal space company “Roscosmos”.

Extravehicular activities were canceled after the two astronauts donned their space suits and depressurized the airlock to begin the spacewalk. They had to return to the International Space Station.

NASA, on the other hand, said that they currently have no information about the cause of the liquid leak, which lasted at least three hours.

It is stated that it is the “Soyuz MS-22” that will later return the Russian cosmonauts to Earth after completing their mission on the ISS.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Russian satellite “Cosmos-2560”, launched in October this year, entered the Earth’s atmosphere on December 10, without operating for two months.
