About 33 percent of netizens have been victims of data breaches. This was reported in the report of the analytical company Thales.
According to the company’s report, 82 percent of users whose personal data was stolen experienced a decrease in their quality of life after the loss of their sensitive data.
54 percent of respondents said companies and services they trust for their data should implement mandatory security measures like encryption or two-factor authentication. Nearly one-fifth of respondents said that companies that lose or unwittingly transfer their data to third parties stop using their services.
Analysts also learned in which areas users willingly trust their data. 42 percent of respondents were satisfied with data protection in financial institutions and 37 percent in medical businesses. By comparison, only 12 percent of users said they were not worried about sharing their data with social networks and entertainment services.
