An external leak has been detected from Roscosmos’ Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft docked with the International Space Station.
This was stated in a message from the American space agency NASA, reported Ukrinform.
On the evening of December 14, it was recorded that a leak was detected from the external cooling circuit of the Soyuz radiator.
Due to a malfunction, the Roscosmos flight control center in Moscow delayed the planned spacewalk of two cosmonauts to assess the situation and data from the Soyuz spacecraft.
The leak was detected when several pressure sensors in the cooling circuit recorded low readings. The launch into space planned by Roskosmos for December 21 was also delayed indefinitely.
NASA does an external search and looks for an external leak. An additional survey of the outer surface of the “union” is planned with the help of the Canadarm2 robot manipulator. A spacewalk for damage inspection is scheduled for December 19.
Let’s remind: Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft delivered NASA astronaut Frank Rubio and Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Prokopyev and Dmytro Petelin into space, starting from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on September 21.
